Samsung S8 Smartphone: Everything you need to know

The release of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is the most important launch for the company as they seek to move beyond the exploding Galaxy S7 phone fiasco. Here are the detailed specifications for the upcoming Galaxy S8:
  • Screen size: S8 – 5.8 inch, S8 Plus – 6.2 inch
  • Bezel-free display that covers the full width of the device (Samsung calls this their “Infinite Display”)
  • Screen curves around the edge like the S7 Edge
  • Resolution: 2960 x 1440 pixels – It is considered the first Mobile HDR Premium phone
  • Storage: 64 GB flash storage – Can be expanded to 256 GB with a microSD card
  • Camera: 12 MP rear camera, 8 MP front camera
  • Lock types: Iris scanner, facial recognition, fingerprint scanner
  • Colours: Midnight Black, Orchid Gray
  • Other: water resistant body, wireless charging capabilities
The Galaxy S8 will be the first Samsung smartphone that features their own artificial intelligence assistant, “Bixby”. Samsung has also added another new capability called the “Dex Dock”, which can turn the Galaxy S8 into a desktop computer.
