Facebook global network

Facebook recently launched a new section in its Safety Center and Bullying Prevention Hub called Parent’s Portal to provide guides and support for parents to explore issues concerning cyberbullying. This initiative was created in collaboration with teenagers, parents and safety experts from around the world.

The Parent’s Portal has a section of advice to help figure out how Facebook works, how to talk with kids about staying safe online and resources from experts. There are links to internet advocacy groups that have a focus on policies related to children using the Internet. There are also step-by-step videos of best practices and it is available in over 55 languages around the world.

Facebook released a statement saying, “Keeping you and your information safe is at the core of everything we do. Whether you have a personal account or your teen does, we’ve compiled some basic information and tips to help you get the most out of your experience and help your child navigate theirs. We’re also pleased to connect you with online safety organizations around the world that offer additional resources specifically for parents.”
